Travel Warning: Indonesia
Two US based hotels bombed in Jakarta, the Marriott and Ritz Carlton. Eight people are reported dead while 50 injured. Of these, 18 were foreigners, according the AP. The US has not updated their travel advisories, but the Australian and New Zealand governments have.
“We advise you to reconsider your need to travel to Indonesia due to the very high threat of terrorist attack,” the Australian Foreign Ministry said on its Web site. Those in Indonesia were warned to exercise “extreme caution.”
Before you travel, be sure to check the US Bureau of Consular Affairs website which provides the most up-to-date travel advisories.
